Department of Public Imagination invites you for a special public installation and community gathering to honor the 51st anniversary of the historic Carson Beach protest.
For the past 4 years, they have returned to the beach to honor the Black Bostonians who imagined what it means for everyone to have access to the public beach. This year, they return in reflection of Toni Morrison’s words, “All water has a perfect memory and is forever trying to get back to where it was” reminding us how water holds our histories and is a portal for reflection and gratitude.
Dzidzor Azaglo will be returning with a beautiful and ethereal live soundscape. crystal bi will debut and launch a new public art project that floats on the ocean. This art project is an offering of gratitude to the ancestors and the spirits in the water.
